It Went By So Fast Recap
12/2/2024 7:10 pm
Superman and Lois comes to a close tonight, marking the end of a series that has balanced the immense weight of saving the world with the challenges of raising a family. Over its three-year run, the program has reimagined the story of the Man of Tomorrow, presenting an otherworldly hero who is as vulnerable as he is invincible. In “It Went By So Fast”, Superman will face his most harrowing challenge yet; putting an end to Lex Luthor’s schemes once and for all. How will this final battle reshape his legacy? Let’s dive into the conclusion of this unforgettable journey.
The episode begins with John Henry Irons and Lana Lang sharing an intimate moment at a local bar, reflecting on their evolving relationship amidst the bittersweet milestone of Sarah preparing to study abroad. Their conversation is abruptly interrupted as tremors from Superman's fierce battle with Doomsday rattle the establishment. The chaos intensifies when the monstrous creature shifts its attention toward the bar, leaving John Henry and Lana scrambling to regain their bearings as destruction looms.
Meanwhile, Lois Lane races against time, orchestrating an evacuation to ensure the safety of nearby civilians. Her frustration boils over as she confronts Amanda, condemning her alliance with Lex Luthor and her role in unleashing Doomsday. Elsewhere, Jonathan and Jordan Kent rush to aid their father, but Superman commands them to hold back, determined to face the beast alone in a final showdown.
Doomsday relentlessly beats Superman into submission, leaving the Man of Steel battered and vulnerable. Defying their father’s orders, Jonathan and Jordan Kent step in, determined to confront the monster themselves. Meanwhile, despite his injuries, John Henry Irons retreats to his workshop, where he feverishly works on assembling a new exosuit and crafting advanced weapons to turn the tide of the battle.
Drawing on every ounce of determination, Superman rises once more, resolute in his decision to protect his sons from the deadly creature. However, Lois, understanding the gravity of the situation, convinces him to allow their sons to fight alongside him. Armed with a powerful warhammer designed by John Henry, the Kent family ultimately incapacitates Doomsday. The Big Blue Boy Scout resolves to take the creature into the sun, leveraging his Kryptonian physiology to grow stronger as Doomsday weakens under the intense solar radiation.
The Kent brothers are entrusted with the mission of locating Amanda and rescuing her from certain death as Lex attempts to execute her in a fiery inferno. Meanwhile, at the Smallville Gazette, Lois pressures Amanda into revealing the depths of Lex’s schemes, compelling her to divulge the truth about his plans. As the Last Son of Krypton endeavors to fly Doomsday into the sun, the creature unexpectedly regains consciousness and, in a final act of humanity, willingly surrenders itself to the sun. Lois prepares to report on the unfolding events, but Milton Fine, ever the disruptor, hacks into the system just as Lex, suited in his formidable exosuit, makes his way back to Smallville, primed for confrontation.
Superman absorbs the yellow sun's radiation, allowing it to amplify his powers to their peak. Meanwhile, Lois confronts Lex with a searing verbal assault, attempting to take him down with a small detonator. As Lois struggles, the Man of Tomorrow soars into the fray, ready to face Lex head-on. With Jonathan incapacitated, Jordan steps in to revive him, using his powers to help save his brother’s life. The battle between Lex and Clark intensifies as John Henry locates Milton's lair and captures him. After a powerful declaration to stop the power-hungry entrepreneur, the Man of Steel shatters Lex's war suit, sending him hurtling back to Smallville and securing his defeat once and for all.
One year later, John Henry and Lana are preparing for their wedding, with Lois officiating the ceremony. The scene unfolds with Kyle and Chrissy, proudly holding their newborn, and another child on the way. As Lois delivers a heartfelt speech, the couple exchanges vows and celebrates their union at the Kent family's barn. Later, as the reception winds down, Sarah and Jordan have a candid conversation. Sarah, feeling a tad disillusioned, expresses her reluctance to settle in Smallville and her desire to explore more, while Jordan seems content embracing the duties of a hero.
Meanwhile, Clark and Lois share a quiet moment in their kitchen, contemplating the future. They learn that Lex's appeal has been denied, and he is now facing life in prison. As Lex adjusts to his new reality at Stryker’s Prison, Bruno Mannheim arrives with a chilling message; things are about to change, and the power dynamics will not be the same as when Lex was last behind bars. The other prisoners laugh heartily at Lex's misfortune as he's locked away forever.
Through a poignant internal monologue, it is revealed that Clark, moved by the overwhelming suffering and turmoil in the world, ultimately made the decision to allow the boys to fully embrace their roles as superheroes. With his growing celebrity, he and Lois also established a foundation dedicated to helping those in need. As the years pass, we witness Clark and Lois aging gracefully together, surrounded by the joy of their expanding family, with Jonathan and Jordan raising their own children.
However, despite the warmth of their life, cancer returns to claim Lois, and she succumbs to the disease, leaving Clark heartbroken. Stricken with grief, Clark adopts a dog, finding solace in the companionship as he faces his final years. In his last moments, he reflects on the life he shared with Lois; filled with love, family and forgiveness. The series concludes with Clark, looking back on the legacy of his life, sharing one final, tender kiss with Lois, bringing their story to a close in a tearjerking farewell.
Overall, Superman and Lois wraps up its four-season arc with a powerful finale that delivers both emotional gut punches and tantalizing action sequences. While the defeat of Lex Luthor is satisfying, it’s the evolution of Clark, Lois and their friends and family over the years that truly tugs at the audience’s heartstrings. Though the ending may feel saddening to some, an undertone of hope burns brightly, leaving viewers deeply grateful for the experience of watching these characters grow and evolve, becoming even greater compared to where they started back in 2021. To quote the title of the finale, it really did go by so fast.
To Live and Die Again Recap
11/25/2024 7:25 pm
It's the penultimate episode of Superman & Lois ever, and we're going to need a minute to process that. To say it's been a wild ride thus far is nothing short of an understatement, and knowing we're reaching the end, we can only imagine how this will all wrap up, and thus bring an end to the era of the Arrowverse as we know it. So let's dive in.
We saw in last week's episode that Lex has it out for Lois, and is willing to do anything to achieve that. After the debate, it's safe to say that Lex got what he wanted. However, the power duo of Clark and Lois aren't going to just leave things at that. They have a plan to get under his skin, and it starts with Lex's ego. Clark heads to meet with Lex, congratulating him on Amanda's plan, and Lex bought the whole package, unable to resist being goaded by the Man of Steel. He immediately deflected and distanced himself from Amanda, who was still dutifully carrying out his orders, unaware that the blissful honeymoon phase was at an end.
Lois meanwhile was picking up the pieces of her tattered reputation, with advertisers pulling out from their deals with the Gazette. But not even Amanda's veiled threat of a defamation lawsuit is enough to keep her away. She's determined to find Cheryl, knowing she's the missing piece of the puzzle to finally bring Lex down. So she decides to go back to basics, and put on her investigative journalist hat by visiting Bruno Mannheim to get some answers. Their meeting is a touching one, and although he's initially reluctant to help Lois out, he relents, and they begin to work together. As imagined, Cheryl ends up being the key, and gives Lois the ammo she needs to get through to Amanda, and hopefully get her to divulge Lex's plan.
While Amanda has predictably reacted well to the new shares Lex gave her, but she's smart enough to notice something is off, and when Lois confronts her with the reality, she's quick to realize where this is headed. But when she tries to confront him, Amanda sees Lex's true nature. The only thing that matters is his plan. And nothing, not Amanda, nor Smallville will stand in his way, and if it's meant to get destroyed in order for him to win, then so be it. He gets Milton to help him with his new suit, and returns to the mines to call on Doomsday once again. This time, Doomsday's looking a bit different, certainly much more like his comicbook counterpart, and much more dangerous.
In the meantime, we're also checking in with Clark, who has been training the boys to handle things themselves, knowing he might not be around forever. And with the episode being titled as it is, that's definitely the idea we're getting. But for all of his attempts to try to train his sons as a duo, he realizes that they have their own individual abilities and do good work by themselves. This is especially notable when Jordan goes to help Victoria May work through her panic attack in a really great scene. It also helps to show what makes Superman, and by extension his sons, such a great hero. Sure, he can punch and fly and take on bad guys, but sometimes someone just needs a helping hand, and getting to see that showcases the heart of the show.
Of course, the peace is disrupted with Doomsday's arrival, setting up for what is likely going to be an explosive final episode. Superman is clearly not having much better luck fighting his adversary this time around, and with his weakening powers, we can only hope Clark will be able to pull through. The episode of course ends while things aren't going so well for the Man of Steel, leaving us beyond nervous for the finale.
Overall, the episode carried our heroes and villains on an emotional and poignant journey for this episode, and we can see just how self-destructive Lex can really get, where he's been offered opportunities to lay down his vendetta time and time again throughout this season, enticed with a chance at new opportunities, but he turned it down every time, showing that he only cares about himself. On the flip side, we have the Kent family where family and heart is what it's all about, and how that makes everyone in that family stronger. Let's see next week where this all leads, and how this show will end!
Sharp Dressed Man Recap
11/18/2024 7:46 pm
The end of Superman and Lois is approaching, and this season has been nothing short of a gripping journey. While the most recent episode offered a brief moment of relief, the countdown to the series finale is in full swing, with only a few episodes remaining. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor remains relentless in his vendetta, leaving chaos in his wake. Let’s dive into what lies ahead for Clark Kent, Lois Lane and their closest loved ones as the stakes continue to rise!
The episode begins with Lex Luthor making a striking impression, clean-shaven and dressed in a sharp new suit, as he discusses his plans with Amanda. At the Kent household, the news crew departs after Clark's monumental decision to reveal his secret identity to the world. Lois, anxious about her upcoming cancer checkup, expresses her concerns, but Clark reassures her that everything will be addressed in time. Meanwhile, John Henry and Natalie are occupied with DOD operations, though the responsibilities are encroaching on Natalie's personal time.
John Henry picks up on her growing sense of duty following Sam Lane's death as their work is interrupted when they’re called to respond to a car fire, stepping in for Clark. Elsewhere, Jordan and Jonathan spot a news van outside the local movie theater. They're quickly surrounded by reporters and fans eager to meet the "Super Twins”. At Hob's Bay, Lois receives the news that she is nearing the end of her treatments, pending one final surgery. However, the moment is overshadowed by a shocking television interview featuring Lex, who publicly exposes details about Lois and Clark.
Appearing on G. Gordon Godfrey’s show, with the eponymous host played by Arrowverse alumni Tom Cavanagh, Lex Luthor seizes the spotlight to recount his time in prison, accusing Lois of fabricating charges that led to his wrongful incarceration. To international audiences everywhere, Lex brands her a liar and casts himself as a victim, skillfully concealing the sinister truth of his nature. Adding to the drama, the cunning corporate tycoon publicly challenges Lois to confront him on Godfrey’s show.
Though Lois is confident that the truth is on her side, Clark hesitates, wary of the potential fallout. He ultimately convinces her to pen a rebuttal for the Smallville Gazette, aiming to preserve her professional credibility. Meanwhile, Jordan and Jonathan struggle to navigate their newfound fame, with the situation taking a personal toll as Candice abruptly ends her relationship with Jonathan via text. In Metropolis, Lex and Amanda strategize their next moves, with simmering romantic tension complicating their partnership. Back in Smallville, John Henry informs Lois and Clark that Otis was found dead in his cell. The scene escalates further when a brick crashes through the Gazette’s window, emblazoned with the word “LIAR”.
Lois remains steadfast in her decision to appear on G. Gordon Godfrey's show, despite Clark’s serious reservations. Determined to stand her ground, she persuades him to accompany her. Meanwhile, John Henry approaches Clark with concerns about his waning powers, offering his assistance as the situation grows more dire. Jonathan, devastated by his sudden breakup with Candice, struggles to process how the reveal of Superman’s identity contributed to their split. Jordan and Natalie encourage him to confront her in-person, hoping it will bring them together again.
Elsewhere, Lex orders Amanda to cancel the interview, wary of the uncontrollable variables at play. However, Amanda convinces him to stick to their plan, even as Lex's discomfort with the situation becomes evident. Back at his garage, John Henry reveals alarming news to Clark; his body is deteriorating due to the lingering effects of Sam Lane’s blood running through him. Clark learns that his newly regenerating heart cells are disengaging, leading to the gradual loss of his powers, which is an ominous sign that the end of the Man of Tomorrow may be near.
Clark and Lois arrive at the studio, where G. Gordon Godfrey greets them with an air of neutrality, attempting to maintain a nonpartisan stance amidst everything. The live debate between Lois and Lex quickly escalates into a fiery exchange, with accusations flying like a verbal sparring match. During the broadcast, Lex unveils fabricated footage of Clark attacking him, cleverly manipulated to paint himself as the victim and sway public opinion in his favor.
Meanwhile, at Candice’s residence, Jonathan seeks to mend their relationship. However, Candice hesitates, overwhelmed by the spotlight that comes with being linked to the Kent family and unsure if she can handle the pressure. Back at the garage, John Henry tunes into the debate when, without warning, his suit and technology are hacked and taken over.
The suit engulfs John Henry, hijacked by one of Lex’s top scientists, and redirects its advanced weaponry toward taking down the Last Son of Krypton. Helpless to control his actions, John Henry is forced into a brutal clash with Superman as the suit fights autonomously, exploiting its full arsenal against Clark. Meanwhile, the Starlight armor, now acting independently, targets Jonathan and Jordan. Despite Jordan’s valiant attempt to intercept it head-on, he is incapacitated, leaving Jonathan to step up.
Working together, the brothers combine their heat vision to destroy the rogue armor in a desperate counterattack. In the skies above, the battle between Superman and John Henry intensifies. As the suit overrides its host entirely, it ejects John Henry, sending him plummeting toward the ground. Fortunately, Clark pushes his failing body to its limits, catching John Henry mid-fall and bringing him to safety just in time.
G. Gordon Godfrey skillfully sways public opinion in Lex's favor during the heated broadcast, exploiting everything that happened to undermine Lois's credibility. Later, Clark confides in Lois about the results of the tests run on him, revealing the grim truth; Sam Lane’s heart is not fully compatible with his Kryptonian physiology. He explains to her, and later to their sons, that this incompatibility means his life expectancy has been drastically shortened, likely matching the age at which the general passed if he had lived out his life to the fullest.
Meanwhile, Lex broods over the fractured relationship with his daughter, Elizabeth, expressing bitterness over her alignment with Lois. His vulnerability leads to a rare moment of intimacy with Amanda as the two share a passionate kiss. The stolen Steel suit, now firmly in Lex and Amanda’s possession, becomes the foundation of their next move. The episode concludes with the two admiring the suit as it undergoes ominous upgrades, transforming into a far more advanced and dangerous weapon.
As the show races toward its grand finale, “Sharp Dressed Man” ramps up the tension as Lex Luthor’s manipulation takes center stage as he shifts public perception in his favor during a televised debate. Meanwhile, Clark’s ongoing battle with his sudden poor health, caused by Sam Lane’s incompatible heart, adds a heartbreaking layer of urgency to his fight. With intense confrontations and moments of vulnerability throughout, the episode builds to a tense climax, foreshadowing even greater danger ahead. The upgraded Steel suit marks a new, ominous threat, leaving us anticipating the next chapter in the coming days.
A Regular Guy Recap
11/11/2024 7:51 pm
Last week, Superman and Lois delivered a powerful, intense episode that left us at the edge of our seats. This week’s installment, titled “A Regular Guy”, shifts the focus to Clark as he grapples with protecting his Superman identity amidst unsettling encounters in town, which is a task made all the more challenging by his sons. Meanwhile, Lois is faced with a pivotal decision regarding the future of the Smallville Gazette after Chrissy presents a bold proposition. Let’s delve into what’s next in this unfolding story!
The episode opens with a flashback in which the Man of Tomorrow reflects on the anonymity of living in Metropolis and the stark contrast of living in Smallville nowadays. In the present day, Superman saves an airplane while making a routine stop at a local mart, where the cashier, Denise, discreetly acknowledges his secret identity. Meanwhile, Lois struggles to assemble a crib for Kyle and Chrissy's baby, while she and Clark discuss the whereabouts of Lex Luthor. Elsewhere, Kyle and Chrissy embark on a search for a new home to start their family, but financial concerns could mean otherwise.
In the heart of Smallville, Clark subtly reassures Coach Gaines that he is not Superman by pretending to be injured. Another flashback showcases Jimmy Olsen, eager to hang out with his new friend. Despite the Man of Steel's initial reluctance to use his powers for personal gain on a softball team, Lois encourages him to have some fun and blend in. Meanwhile, tensions rise when a confrontation between a classmate and Jonathan and Jordan escalates, only to be diffused when Kyle intervenes.
Lois proudly shows off the baby crib, but Chrissy confides that she wants to sell her stake in the Smallville Gazette to help fund the dream home she and Kyle envision. Although Lois hesitates, she ultimately supports Chrissy’s decision, marking the end of their professional partnership. Meanwhile, Clark meets with Kyle at the fire station, where Kyle shares details of the earlier confrontation involving Clark's sons. Reflecting on his days at the Daily Planet, Clark thinks about how blending in was simpler, especially during activities like being on a softball team with Jimmy, without the need to rely on his powers. Later that evening, the Kent family discusses the challenges of keeping Clark’s identity as the Last Son of Krypton a secret, leading to a tense confrontation as Clark insists on the importance of maintaining his secrecy at all costs.
Lois has a private talk with the Kent brothers, emphasizing how Clark grew up learning one crucial lesson; to keep his powers hidden. She encourages them to give their father a break, given the challenges he faced with this burden as a young man. Meanwhile, at the Smallville fire station, Kyle and Chrissy discuss their financial concerns, reluctantly accepting that their dream house may be out of reach with their current resources. Later, the Kent brothers apologize to their father, and they head over to their classmate’s house to resolve a misunderstanding, but their classmate remains convinced that their father is Superman and that they have powers.
In a flashback at the Daily Planet, Clark scrambles to explain his absence from Jimmy's softball game, only for Jimmy to point out the pattern between Clark’s disappearances and Superman’s heroic saves. Though Clark denies it, Jimmy clearly senses something unusual. In the present, Clark, Lois, Chrissy and Kyle share a meal at the local diner, where Clark and Lois propose buying out Chrissy’s share in the Smallville Gazette to help them afford their dream home. Thanks to an inheritance from General Sam Lane’s work benefits, Clark and Lois are able to offer this support, giving their friends a fresh start for their new family. However, Candice’s father, a notorious drunk and vagrant, bursts into the diner, demanding to speak with Clark.
In front of everyone, he calls him out as the Big Blue Boy Scout and even draws a gun to back his accusation. Exhausted from hiding the truth, Clark decides it's time; he reveals his identity to the entire diner as the bullet simply glances off him. Superman stands resolute as the stunned crowd takes in the revelation that the Man of Steel has been among them all along. Later, the Kent family discusses that it may finally be time to go public, hoping it will keep Luthor at bay.
Despite some reservations, Clark feels confident that he’s making the right choice as preparations begin. With a full camera crew on standby, Clark publicly reveals his identity as Superman to the world through a live Daily Planet broadcast. A final flashback reveals that the Daily Planet softball team triumphed without Clark. At the Kent household, Clark discards his glasses and heads to the diner, where he meets Jimmy to offer an apology. However, Jimmy is simply grateful to have his friend back as the episode ends.
This week's episode of Superman and Lois offers a hair-raising blend of personal and superhero challenges as Clark Kent struggles to juggle his secret identity and family life in Smallville. The stakes rise when Lois faces a difficult decision about the future of the Smallville Gazette, while Clark’s attempts to keep his anonymity intact become harder, especially as his sons find themselves caught in the crossfire. The emotional core of the episode hits when Clark is forced to reveal his Superman identity in a dramatic public moment, altering the course of his life and relationships. With strong performances from the main cast, this episode paves the way for immense changes, leaving viewers eager to see how the Kent family will navigate the aftermath.
When the Lights Come On Recap
11/4/2024 7:38 pm
Superman and Lois is nearing the finish line, with only a handful of episodes left until the series finale! Last week’s episode highlighted the effects of vengeance on individuals, creating major rifts in familial bonds, particularly between Lex and his daughter, Elizabeth. Lois appears to have tamed the monstrous Doomsday to the extent that it turns against its master. However, Lex Luthor is still lurking in the shadows, and Smallville will have a lot on its plate with the rise of such a devious megalomaniac. Let’s take a look at what’s to come in “When the Lights Come On!”
The episode opens with an enraged Lex wreaking havoc in his hotel room in Smallville, violently smashing objects while reflecting on what he could have had with Elizabeth. In a fit of fury, he burns all remnants of his journey to find her. Lex’s loyal assistant, Amanda, enters to inform him that LexCorp employees are hesitant about relocating, but the former businessman is indifferent as he reiterates his desire for vengeance against those who have wronged him.
At the Kent Farm, Clark and Lois gather materials containing incriminating evidence against Lex, while Jonathan continues his global rescue efforts as Superboy. Lois suggests that Jordan should talk to Jonathan about his increasingly reckless behavior. Concurrently, at the Lang-Cushing household, Lana and Sarah discuss their increasingly hectic personal lives until Lana receives an urgent call to come into the office.
Meanwhile, at the Smallville Gazette, the Man of Tomorrow focuses on tracing individuals linked to Lex, while Lois decides to investigate further by observing Amanda. In the Smallville municipal building, Lex waits for Lana in her office and suggests that she reconsider her zoning plans for his new headquarters. When she firmly refuses, he departs, leaving behind a veiled threat.
Amanda and her associate discuss their relocation plans when Lois confronts them. Amanda is resolute in her belief that she is justified in supporting a criminal mastermind, while Lois warns her about the dangerous path she is taking. At a local convenience store, Clark is purchasing some items when Lana shares her recent encounter with Lex at her office. She reveals the location of his new headquarters to Clark and persuades him to join her, arguing that his presence as a Kent will ease the negotiations with the property seller.
Later, at the go-to Smallville diner, Coach Gaines approaches Jonathan and Jordan, attempting to convince them to rejoin the football team. However, Jonathan quickly excuses himself to continue helping others around the world. Meanwhile, the local proprietor initially hesitates to assist Clark and Lana, but ultimately relents after dropping hints about her awareness of Clark’s true identity.
Back at the Smallville Gazette, Clark and Lois engage in a discussion about the potential risks of people discovering Clark's true identity, just as Jonathan enters after another heroic save, much to their frustration. Meanwhile, Jordan seeks employment at the diner where Sarah works, which upsets her. Sarah shares her aspirations of traveling and experiencing the world, even without any powers.
As Lana and the proprietor attempt to withdraw from their agreement, Lex arrives and pressures them to honor his deal. Tensions escalate as Clark enters the scene, but Lex counters by offering the proprietor ten million dollars in exchange for her compliance and the support of everyone else in the bar. Ultimately, she declines his offer, prompting Lex to storm out in frustration.
Amanda confronts Lex in his hotel room, voicing her frustration about being kept in the dark regarding his plans. She confesses her uncertainty about trusting someone she cares for so deeply, as Lex pressures her to choose between loyalty to him or allegiance to those she stands with. At the Lang-Cushing household, Sarah shares her aspirations of studying abroad, expressing a desire to broaden her horizons and pursue a transformative experience. Although Lana is initially hesitant, she recognizes the importance of supporting her daughter's happiness and dreams.
At the Kent Farm, Jordan and Jonathan engage in a conversation about Jonathan's superhero endeavors while their parents discuss Clark’s physical aging and the challenges he faces in maintaining his superhero persona. Later that evening, Lana finds herself physically assaulted by Otis, but in a dramatic turn, Sarah manages to intervene just in time to save her mother from a potentially fatal encounter.
The Kent family hurriedly makes their way over there where Lana confides in them about the traumatic incident she experienced. Clearly shaken and horrified, she finds solace in Lois's comforting presence. Meanwhile, an absolutely furious Clark heads to Lex’s hotel room, seeking confrontation. Attempting to intimidate Lex, he discovers that Lex has strategically positioned red sun lighting in the street lamps, leveling the playing field for their encounter. The two engage in a fierce and brutal fight, culminating in a moment where Clark stands on the brink of taking his greatest enemy’s life, with his family helplessly witnessing the struggle unfold.
The Kent brothers attempt to commend their father for his decision to confront his enemy, but Clark firmly asserts that there were no victors this evening. The Last Son of Krypton cautions that their entire family must prepare for whatever challenges lie ahead. Meanwhile, Sarah emphasizes to her mother the importance of standing up against cruelty, and Lana ultimately agrees to allow her daughter to study abroad. The episode concludes with Lex tending to his wounds while Amanda vows her unwavering loyalty to him, hinting at the impending arrival of the exo-suit.
Overall, this episode delivers a tense exploration of Lex's destructive rage as he grapples with his thirst for revenge, leaving his assistant Amanda caught in a web of loyalty and moral conflict. Meanwhile, the Kent family faces their own challenges, culminating in a heart-pounding moment when Sarah intervenes to save Lana from an attack. The episode builds to a brutal confrontation between Clark and Lex, pushing Clark to confront his darker impulses. As the dust settles, the Kents brace themselves for what’s to come, with Lex’s ambitions setting the stage for more intense conflict ahead. To conclude, “When the Lights Comes On” is a hair-raising episode that makes us very nervous about what’s to come in the final four episodes, especially in regards to how the Man of Steel and his allies will stop such a nefarious foe.
